Jesus answered them:

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain:

Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, it will be done."

Matthew 21:21

MESSAGE FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT

November 16, 2009

New YCS trustees officially began their term on November 2, 2009 and they have a very busy month ahead of them.  First on the agenda was getting to know each other and working towards becoming a team rather than individuals. A great start in this area took place last Friday evening and all day Saturday as we spent time together in a Board Orientation session facilitated by Terry Gunderson, a consultant with the Alberta School Board Association.  This provided them the opportunity to develop a better understanding of their role as individual trustees and as a member of a Corporate Board and now they are ready for their first Board Meeting that will take on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at YCS Board office.  The Board orientation came to a beautiful close as we celebrated mass together at St. Patrick's Church with Bishop Murray presiding.  All trustees and myself, were commissioned by Bishop Murray Chatlain into our new roles. It was quite an honor and blessing, especially when the congregation was asked to stand and agree to support us in our roles.

The Board of Trustees will continue their learning process as they spend next weekend together attending their first Alberta Catholic School Trustee’s Association and Alberta School Board Association meetings. They are very excited about the work they have ahead of them and have pledged to make sure that our students receive a high quality, faith-based education program.

If at any time you have concerns do not hesitate to contact me at 766-7408.

God Bless!

Claudia Parker, Superintendent
