Our mission statement says that “In our Catholic community, we will work together to discover our unique talents and develop a love for learning.”   At Weledeh Catholic, we always strive to focus on decisions that are in the best interest of the students and their learning.   We believe that all students deserve to develop and learn to their potential.   Our programs that define us are created with the goal of helping students receive the instruction that they need to develop academically, socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Monthly liturgies, Positive Behaviour Support rallies, grade division rallies and activities all serve to help build a sense of community and fellowship within our school.   WCS is pleased to be able to offer French and Dogrib Language instruction, as well as special English Second Language classes.   Middle School exploratory classes give grade 7-8 students the opportunity to earn high school credits in Career Technology Studies, while 6-8 students have a wide exposure to Band, Dance and other fine art options.

Background

Ecole St. Patrick High School is dual track, English and French Immersion, 9-12 school with a population of 525 students. We are very diverse in our demographics. Approximately 35% of our population is aboriginal. In 1995, we moved into our new St. Patrick High School, a state-of-the-art facility. Our 1997 External School Review highlighted many of our achievements and indicated that we possess the key ingredients of a highly effective school: innovation in technology, a well respected staff, community-based partnerships, a student-centered approach to learning and a Christian focus.

Philosophy

Ecole St. Patrick High School is dedicated to assisting our students to determine their capabilities and helping them to develop their gifts and qualities to their fullest potential. The staff of Ecole St. Patrick High Schoolset high standards and high expectations for the school and its students. The school enjoys a proud history based on living out its motto: "Let your light shine." The staff believes that learning does not occur solely within the confines of the school. Learning is nurtured, supported and developed within the home, the parish and the community at large. Education, therefore, is a partnership among students, parents, teachers and community professionals and volunteers.
