Library Resources
The Weledeh School Library is a collection of approximately 15,000 items serving the staff and students of the school. Parents may also borrow books from the library. The collection is comprised of books, videos, reference material, magazines, newspapers as well as CD Roms. The library is equipped with computers connected to the Internet which allows students to access a variety of subjects. The library is automated on the Spectrum Library System. Students may use the on-line public access catalogue (OPAC) to look up titles of books, authors and subjects.
Library materials have a two week loan period. Each student has an individual code that allows him/her to borrow materials. Students are not assessed library fines; however, a replacement charge will be levied for lost library materials. During the school year, the library is open to students from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The library club is an important group in assisting our librarian. Taking charge of publicity for library evenings and reading nights, as well as displays and books promotions, other students in the club choose to assist in library maintenance - shelving and organizing books.
Parent volunteers are very welcome and may phone the Library for more information.
