Report Cards
Evaluating and Reporting
Teachers will inform their students of the evaluation procedures at the beginning of the term. Evaluation will generally be an ongoing process. Formal report cards will be issued three times for students in K - 8 with an interim checklist issued in late September. While 3 Way conferences are held after each reporting period, we encourage you to contact your child’s teacher at anytime if you have questions or concerns.
Evaluation Policy
Student progress will be continuously evaluated by teachers using a variety of informal and formal methods, all the while keeping in mind the social, academic and cultural development of the child. In grades 7 - 8, 20% of the Mathematics and Language Arts marks are derived from an external exam, held in the spring term.
Standardized Assessement
Students at Weledeh catholic write the Gates MacGinitie Reading test each year to assist the school in tracking level and to help teachers make appropriate programmin decisions.
Students in grade 3 and 6 also will write the Alberta Achievement Tests in May and June of each year. These test results are mailed to parents in the fall.
